District Law Group LLP respects your privacy and is committed to complying with this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy/Terms of Use”), which describes what personal information we collect about you and how we use it. This Privacy Policy/Terms of Use applies to personal information collected in connection with our website and any other webpage that DLG maintains that links to this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use (collectively, the “Site”), any current or future mobile applications associated with DLG or the Site (collectively, the “App”), and our email communications; and

1.2 By accessing or using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2.1 The types of personal information we collect will depend on the services you request and, if you are a client, the nature of our representation of your case. The table below describes the categories (with non-exhaustive examples) of personal information we may collect about you. We may also collect other personal information that is not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection. 

a. Full name;

b. Email address;

c. Mailing address;

d. Phone number;

e. Gender; and

f. Marital status.

2.2 Sensitive personal information: 

a. Payment information;

b. Date of birth;

c. Social Security number;

d. Driver’s license number;

e. Passport number;

f. Financial information – account numbers;

g. Insurance policy numbers; and

h. Medical information. 

2.3 Non-Personal Information: We automatically collect certain non-personal information when you visit the Site, including:

Further, where expressly designated by DLG, some portions of the Services may be used by active DLG clients to communicate pursuant to an attorney/client relationship. You may choose whether or not to provide such information; however, the information may be required to respond to your request.

Such information includes the online identifiers, device information, and online activity information described above. To facilitate the automatic collection described above, we may use the following technologies:

We use cookies to collect information from you regarding your usage of the Platform in order to remember user preferences and settings, personalize your experience with the Platform, and for security purposes. Data collected from pixels is often used to compile statistics about usage of websites and the success of email marketing campaigns.

6. Personal Information Collected from Third Parties: 

We may also collect or receive personal information from third parties, which may include:

6.1 Individuals or entities involved in our clients’ legal matters, such as doctors, other parties, and other individuals that you may direct to provide us with information; and

6.2  We may merge or combine such personal information with the personal information we collect from you directly or automatically.

7. Use Of Personal Information:

We may use the personal information we collect for the following purposes and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use or at the time of collection. We use personal information to provide our services, including the Platform. For example, we use personal information:

7.1 To facilitate your requests for a free case evaluation and determine your legal needs;

7.2 To provide you with legal and other services, content, and features you request;

7.3 To create, manage, and monitor your account;

7.4 To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you, including placing calls or sending texts using any automated technology, including prerecorded messages;

7.5 To operate, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform;

7.6 To process your transactions, invoices, and settlement payments;

7.7 Respond to your inquiries and requests for customer support, including to investigate and address your concerns and monitor and improve our responses; and

7.8 Enable security features of the Platform, such as by sending you security codes via email or SMS, and remembering devices from which you have previously logged into the Site with.

 

8. Information Sharing:

8.1 We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties; and

8.2 We may share information with:

a. Service providers assisting our business operations;

b. Law enforcement or government agencies, as required by law; and

c. A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

9. Date Security:

9.1 We implement reasonable security measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction; and

9.2 No data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to the Site. 

10. Children’s Privacy:

10.1 The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age; and

10.2 We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it, unless the information collected is relevant to a case.

11. For Compliance, Fraud Prevention and Safety:

To enforce our Privacy Policy/Terms of Use and other agreements we may have:

11.1 To comply with applicable laws, regulations, lawful requests, and legal processes;

11.2 To protect our, your, or others’ rights, privacy, safety, or property (including by making and defending legal claims);

11.3 To maintain the security and integrity of our business, the Platform, users and service providers, our databases and other technology assets;

11.4 Audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements and internal policies; and

11.5 Prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft.

12. Other Law Firms or Lawyers:

12.1 Consent: DLG may otherwise disclose your Personal Information in accordance with your prior direction or, in some cases, we may specifically ask you for your consent, such as when required by law.

13. Retention of Personal Information:

13.1 We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and processed, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for your personal information, we will consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it (and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means), and the applicable legal requirements;

13.2 Depending on your residency and subject to certain legal limitations and exceptions, you may have certain rights relating to your personal information, such as the rights listed below. Please note, these rights may not apply in your jurisdiction or may otherwise be limited by applicable law;

13.4 Right to Correction. The right to correct inaccuracies in your personal information, considering the nature of the personal information and the purposes of the processing of the personal information; and 

13.5 Right to Deletion. The right to request the deletion of personal information that we maintain about you, subject to certain exceptions.

14.1 To request to exercise the privacy rights listed above where available under applicable law, please complete (or have your authorized agent complete) our interactive webform available by clicking here: Privacy Rights Portal or call us at: 1-(771) 772-6868.  Where required by applicable law, the Site also recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Note that due to technological limitations, if you visit our Site from a different computer or device, or clear cookies on your browser that store your preferences, you will need to return to the Site to select your preferences or rebroadcast the GPC signal.  While we take measures to ensure that those responsible for receiving and responding to your request are informed of your rights and how to help you exercise those rights, when contacting us to exercise your rights, we ask you to please adhere to the guidelines;

14.2 Tell Us Which Right You Are Exercising: Specify which right you want to exercise and the personal information to which your request relates (if not to you); 

14.3 Authorized Agents: If you are an authorized agent acting on behalf of another consumer, please clearly indicate this fact and your authority to act on such consumer’s behalf. We may require the consumer’s proof of identification, the authorized agent’s proof of identification, and any other information that we may request in order to verify your request, including evidence of valid permission to act on the consumer’s behalf;

14.4 You may request to:

a. Access your personal information.

b. Correct inaccurate information.

c. Delete your personal information; and

14.5 We try to respond to all legitimate requests within 45 days of your request, or as otherwise required by applicable law. Occasionally it may take us longer than 45 days to respond, for instance if your request is particularly complex or you have made several requests. In this situation, we will notify you of the delay and may continue to update you regarding the progress of our response.

15. Changes To This Privacy Policy:

DLG may change this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. Such changes will be effective upon posting the revised Privacy Policy/Terms of Use on our Platform. You will be able to tell when this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use was last updated by the Last Updated date included at the bottom of this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use. By continuing to use our Platform, or communicating electronically with us thereafter, you acknowledge such changes to this Privacy Policy/Terms of Use.
